Through Grace

Introduction:-

The life of Hagar thought us the obedience which we should learn from her in the last article. As a continuation let us grow in God through the grace in this article. There are so many things to write about grace but here I want the spiritual and the saved fellow beings to understand the word Grace through one perspective. I would like to mention it again that I cannot write everything in this. So I am going to write this article in one perspective. I am going to pick some people as an example from Old and the New Testament.  I m going to tell about Prophet Moses and Apostle Paul and Gabriel, Angel of the Lord respectively.

1. Moses

Moses is one who has written so many chapters on Lord’s Law and the one who has guided lakhs of Israelites with 40 years of ministerial experiences and the one who had walked with God, has seen face to face. See how this Moses sees the grace of the Lord through his life experience.

 In Exodus 33:12-16

“Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”

Here Moses tells that If only He goes with them is the Grace. Lets us surf the incident which has just happened before this. Moses walks with God for 40 days in the mountain

Exodus 32:1-8 Bible tells that

And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for  as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said tomorrow is a feast to the LORD. And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted  themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These  be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

God tells to Moses in Exodus 19:24 that you and Aaron come up to the mountains. We don’t know if Aaron too had gone up with Moses. This ( preparation of the calf) could have or not been happened here God has come down to talk  on the mount of Sinai with fire such that the people is trembled with fear.(Exo 19:18) But here People works against the God and they spoil themselves because of the late arrival of Moses. The people just left the way God had prepared for them within a short period of time. God punishes them for their act in the chapter 32. In the 33rd chapter verses 1-3 God tells that He will not come with them to the promised land of canon rather he will send His angel. In this situation Moses utters these words and prays to God that ‘the grace is found and is where you are’. God tells that He will not go with them but they will reach the Promised Land. Moses raises his prayer to God that only when you are with us we find grace in your sight.

Here is a Tamil song which says that

“Though we are imperfect You are with us.

You help us walk in the wilderness

Jesus you are the one who makes us feel contempt”

Moses was familiar with the depth of the meaning of these lines long before but what about us? Let’s think about the present situation we call wealth as grace because if one is luxurious they tell that everything is by His grace. Here people lose their stableness. Moses does not tell the land of promise as grace. He tells that grace is found is where you are. God too expects the same thing from us through Jesus Christ and that is why He gave His only Son for us. In Matt 1:23

“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” which means, “God with us.”

How such this proves that only to be with us God has given His Son

When we just compare this song with the verses it gives the nearly same meaning but now days are these meaningful songs being sung in today’s churches? or the Satan has taken away these songs with his cunning plan?

If at all God gives money or He blesses us then we call this as Gods Grace. When are we going to understand this truth?

2. Gabriel(Marry)

We have already seen an example from the Old Testament. We should not take a single verse for understanding but here In the New Testament Luke 1:28 the angel Greeted Mary and leaves a message

The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

Here the angel come to Mary and tell her that she is highly favoured which in Tamil Bible its written as Graced One.

The Grace is nothing else but God being with us. Which the Bible tells that “The Lord is with you”; because if God is with us then the so called blessing with come to us and we don’t want to go back of it. The blessing here we are talking is known to everyone and which is not money, car, house, luxurious life but Jesus Christ is the Blessing. If God is with us the Red Sea will dry up, the bitter water will turn up sweeter. Wilderness will change into an evergreen land. Only few knows this truth if we knew it then we will not run back off blessings instead we will go back of God.

3. Apostle Paul

Grace is something which transforms an ordinary person to an extraordinary and weak to a strong

And makes the one to confess that I am nothing it was His Grace through which I am. Here Paul says 1 Corinthians 15:10

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them — yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

Paul is using “I worked harder” in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Paul writes that though there were many struggles it was Gods grace which was with me

When I was in Bihar we did Film ministry. One day it was too late and as I was Bachelors I have to take food from the hostel mess. But as it was untime there were no food available but there were some remaining in the guest house we received those food allotted for the guest. I and another man were taking our dinner. At that time one sister came and was talking with us. The man who was with me said that, it was God’s grace through which we got yummy for tummy. I at once thought that Is this the grace of God? But Paul says Hunger, Thirst, fasting, winter, and nakedness happened to me but Gods grace was with me. Oh how Justifiable the truth is? How big the grace is? There are some people who always misuse the word Gods Grace. Do understand the meaning of Gods grace and receive it so that you shine greater. May the Lord help you to understand and receive His Grace. Amen…………
